Anna Riedner with her sisters

Anna Riedner lived with her siblings at Herzogstraße 55. While Anna organised the household with her sister Hedwig, her sister Emma worked as a teacher and her brother Otto worked in a managerial capacity for the state archives. In 1928, her siblings had Anna Riedner committed to the Haar sanatorium and nursing home due to religious delusions. In 1929, Anna Riedner returned home at the request of her siblings.

10 years later, Anna Riedner again had exaggerated religious ideas and stopped eating. Her siblings agreed to have her admitted to Eglfing-Haar again. Conditions there had deteriorated badly under the National Socialists. Patients who were considered unfit for work and therapy according to the hospital staff were given much worse care, less food and hardly any nursing care. Anna Riedner died in Eglfing-Haar in June 1941 as a result of this deliberate lack of care.
