The siblings Bernhard, Henriette and Josef Hausner were children of a Jewish fur merchant in Munich. Not much is known about the merchant Josef Hausner. He lived at Hans-Sachs-Straße 13 from 1907. His sister Henriette Hausner married Hermann Heilbronner and lived with him in Memmingen. After their divorce, Henriette Heilbronner moved in with her brother Josef.
Their brother Bernhard Hausner ran the company Gebr. Hausner Woll- und Fellgroßhandel together with his son Ernst. After Josef Hausner had died in 1935, Bernhard Hauser moved in with his sister at Hans-Sachs-Straße 13 in 1936. That year, Bernhard and his son Ernst Hauser gave up their joint business, and in 1937 Ernst managed to emigrate to Argentina. In 1942, Bernhard and Henriette Hausner were deported to the Theresienstadt ghetto, where they both died shortly after due to the inhumane conditions.
On Wednesday, 17 July 2024, Memorial Signs for the Hausner siblings were placed at their former home in Hans-Sachs-Straße as part of a commemorative event. Speakers included the initiator of the Memorial Signs, Eva Bruns from the owners' association of Hans-Sachs-Straße 13, as well as city councillor Nimet Gökmenoglu on behalf of the Lord Mayor of the City of Munich, and Dr h.c. mult. Charlotte Knobloch, President of the Jewish Community of Munich and Upper Bavaria.
