Memorial Signs for Kitty and Rupprecht Neustätter,
Rosenheimerstraße 83

Rupprecht Neustätter, an authorised signatory in the family owned paper factory, married Kitty in 1928 and the childless couple lived at what is now Prinzregentenstraße 83 until 1939. Kitty was a keen horsewoman, her husband a passionate amateur photographer. In November 1938, Rupprecht Neustätter was abducted by the Gestapo and brought to Dachau concentration camp. Kitty Neustätter had to do forced labour in the Lohhof flax mill. They tried in vain to emigrate to Australia. In November 1941, the Gestapo deported Rupprecht and Kitty Neustätter to Kaunas, where they were murdered by the SS five days later.

On 25 November 2021, a memorial service for Kitty and Rupprecht Neustätter took place in the Prinzregententheater. In addition to Dr Stefan Schmaus from the August Everding Theatre Academy, Mayor Verena Dietl and Dr Charlotte Knobloch, President of the Jewish Community of Munich and Upper Bavaria, also spoke. Ingrid Reuther from ErinnerungsWerkstatt München read out the life stories before Dr Veronika Heyde-Görtz spoke about her grandmother's friendship with Kitty and Rupprecht Neustätter. Emma Stratmann and Simon Rauch from the August Everding Theatre Academy read from the last testimonies of the deportees, and Florian Ring from the Bogenhausen district committee gave the closing speech. Florian Schlierf (bass) provided the musical accompaniment.

Afterwards, the Memorial Signs for Rupprecht and Kitty Neustätter were handed over at their former home at Prinzregentenstraße 83.
