The carpenter Hans Nimmerfall was a member of the Bavarian state parliament for the SPD for 12 years and a member of Pasing town council from 1911 to 1933. There he was particularly committed to housing construction for workers.
Immediately after the National Socialists came to power, Hans Nimmerfall was arrested at the beginning of 1933 and taken to the Dachau concentration camp in the summer of 1933, where he was forced to carry out extremely hard labour and was severely maltreated by the guards. After his release in February 1934, Hans Nimmerfall never recovered from his ordeal and died in Pasing Hospital in August 1934.
On Tuesday, 20 August 2024, the 90th anniversary of his death, a memorial service for Hans Nimmerfall was held at the Munich Adult Education Centre at Bäckerstraße 14 in Pasing.
Dr Martin Ecker from Münchner Volkshochschule spoke, as well as City Councillor Julia Schönfeld-Knor, representing the Lord Mayor of the City of Munich, and Klaus Schultz from the Dachau Concentration Camp Community. Dr Bernhard Schoßig from the Pasinger Geschichtswerkstatt read out the biography and relatives of Hans Nimmerfall talked about Hans Nimmerfall. Frieder Vogelsgesang from the Pasing Obermenzing district committee gave the closing speech.
Afterwards, the Memorial Sign for Hans Nimmerfall was placed at Bäckerstraße 14 at the Old Town Hall in the presence of family members.
